Changes for Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday services on February 17 will be different this year due to health guidelines put in place for the COVID-19 pandemic. The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments announced that clergy are to first bless the ashes, sprinkle them with holy water, and address all those present by saying one time, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel,” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Then, instead of making the sign of the cross with ashes on the forehead of each person, this year ashes will be sprinkled on top of the head.

We have had some streaming issues with Facebook on Sundays in recent weeks, so
we recommend viewing on our website or Vimeo

Blessed Candles Available
As you likely know, the blessing of the candles, Candlemas, occurs on the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord. Did you know this tradition can be traced as far back as the fifth century?
It represents the entry of Christ, the light of the world, into the Temple of Jerusalem.
Bringing these Candlemas Candles into your home is a sign that Christ is with you in your everyday life. Lighting them for prayer at difficult times, helps us to better appreciate the light and warmth of the presence of Christ.
Candles are available for you to take home, or gift a neighbor or loved one, at both church sites. Suggested donation to help cover our cost, is $3 per box. Thank you!
