Alpha - Online!
Hosted by St. Mary Parish
Begins February 3, 2021
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm on Zoom
Alpha is a Christian video series that explores basic questions about faith. Alpha focuses on relationships - especially having a meaningful connection with God. Alpha is for anyone and everyone, at any point in their faith journey - from non-believers to regular, active participants in a church.
Online Alpha begins with social time in your small group, is followed by a short video, and then a small group discussion occurs about topics set forth in the videos. The small groups allow for wonderful sharing. There isn’t an obligation to say anything, and there is nothing you cannot say. Alpha is not about “preaching or teaching”. It is an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in a friendly and open environment.
There is not a fee for the Alpha course.

Please note the following:
St. Louise de Marillac has used Faith Direct as our online giving platform since 2006, and more recently, it has been available for St. Joan of Arc parishioners as well. Faith Direct has served us well in allowing a steady cash flow to the church and ease of donating for our parishioners.
In preparation for the merger of our two parish locations, we evaluated various companies that provide online giving and have decided to make a change in vendors that will better serve our needs. Effective January 1, 2021, we will be using Online Giving, from
isitor (OSV), as our electronic offertory vendor. Considerable thought and analysis went into this decision and some of the important points about OSV that influenced the change are as follows:
OSV provides a greater saving in overall cost to the parishes.
OSV is an established catholic nonprofit organization.
OSV has been our envelope vendor for many years and has been a great partner.
OSV provides parishioner support for all online giving needs.
OSV continuously updates with new technology for our parishioners.
Other parishes in our Diocese that use OSV for online giving
are very pleased with their service and ease of use.
It is important that we coordinate the transition well. Faith Direct will cease all transition as of February 1, 2021. We are asking all Faith Direct subscribers to enroll with OSV by December 31, 2020 and encouraging all parishioners to consider using online giving for your offertory to Saint Catherine Labouré Parish.

We are looking for some more parishioners to join our wonderful team of volunteers! Here are a few areas where we need help, a brief description, and who you can contact if you want to receive more information.
Please consider joining our Usher Team! We are in need of Ushers for our weekend Masses and Christmas Masses. Our Ushers help greet parishioners and seat them and help with the Offertory collection for each Mass. Please contact Marcella at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions and/or would like to join this wonderful ministry! Or call the Parish Office at 412.833.1010 x242
Lectors have the responsibility of proclaiming the scripture readings at Mass and making sure that the words written are pronounced clearly, with appropriate meaning and delivery. We are in need of Lectors for our weekend Masses, especially 4:00pm Saturday Evening Mass at St. Joan and 4:30pm Sunday Mass at St. Louise. Please contact Marcella at email@example.com if you have any questions and/or would like to join this ministry.
